At Royal Hands Equine, we have an all-inclusive approach to bodywork so you can maximize the benefits for your beloved horse. Whether your horse is for pleasure riding, competing, is retired, or rehabbing from an injury, our services support their physical and mental well being every step of the way.
Growing up as the daughter of a horse trainer, I’ve always wanted to work in the equestrian industry helping horses and their owners. I fell in love with bodywork after seeing the incredible physical transformations that are possible with patience and consistency. Most people are surprised to learn that equine bodywork is not a “quick fix”, and instead, is a non-invasive solution to support the long-term health and longevity of your horse.
Graston is quickly gaining recognition as a method to speed up the healing and recovery process for tendon and ligaments and surgery sites. Such injuries can often have devastating consequences. We work hand-in-hand with your primary care vet to ensure the Graston Technique is the right treatment to aid in your horse’s recovery. We regularly serve clients throughout Maryland and Virginia.

"TATI IS A KEY LINK AND AN AMAZING PART OF MY HORSE'S TEAM! WE COULD NOT FUNCTION WITHOUT HER! SHE IS SO DETAILED AND SO INTUITIVE. SHE CAN TELL ME EVERYTHING I'M FEELING UNDER SADDLE JUST FROM OUR FIRST SESSION. MY HORSE ADORES HER SESSIONS AND HAS MADE BIG IMPROVEMENTS SINCE! SHE'S GREAT TO TALK TO, EASY TO SCHEDULE, AND DEDICATED TO EACH HORSE SHE WORKS ON. ALWAYS JUST A TEXT AWAY!"
"I MET TATI AT THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR AND NOTICED A DIFFERENCE IN MY HORSE'S RIDEABILITY AFTER THE 1ST SESSION. HE'S BEEN GETTING MONTHLY SESSIONS EVER SINCE AND 7 MONTHS LATER HE'S A WHOLE NEW HORSE. MOVING THE BEST HE EVER HAS I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER WORK!"
"MY MARE THOROUGHLY ENJOYED THE TIME AND ATTENTION THAT TATIANA GAVE HER DURING HER MASSAGE. TATIANA WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL AND FOCUSED; AND TOLD ME WHERE SHE WAS 'BLOCKED AND SORE' THE NEXT TIME I RODE HER SHE WAS MUCH LOOSER AND MORE FLUID. IT WAS A GREAT TREAT FOR BOTH OF US."
Ideally, try to ride before the session. If you must ride after, that is fine as well. You may also hand-walk post-session so your horse may fully relax and release what was done during the session.
In order to get the full effects of a massage session, regular monthly sessions are recommended. If we are scheduling for a specific injury or treating something specific with Graston or Kinesiology Tape, scheduling will vary per client.
For new clients, a basic one-hour massage session is typically the best introduction to working with me. It allows me to get a full understanding of you and your horse so that in the future we can make alterations based on what your horse specifically needs.
It is very important to understand that horses are athletes and bodywork helps to ensure that their body stays as healthy and strong as possible. Horses are masters at learning how to overcompensate when a specific area is weak, so just because they might not feel off or uneven under saddle doesn’t always mean that they don’t need bodywork.
For clients 60+ minutes outside of Montgomery County, Maryland, we charge a $50 barn call fee. We are happy to waive the fee if we will be working on 3+ horses at the same barn on the same day.
